Plot an alternative option within a routeFORUMS HOME SEARCH FORUMS

Hi Guys

I am very happy with the last couple of changes that you have implemented, and were wondering if you had considered the ability to plot an alternative option within a route, while the original track is still "alive"

Also like the "briefcase" but would like to be able to pin one or two editing options onto the edit screen rather than opening the breifcase every time.

Thanks for the feedback Leigh.   Glad you like the latest enhancements to the site. The ability to plot a detour or diversion within a route is something we've thought about and would very much like to add if we can come up with a viable solution, so it's good to know that there is interest in this.

Thanks for the other suggestion too.  I'm less sure about that one as it would be a lot of work to save one click and could cause layout issues, but it's something we can bear in mind.

Hi Anne - I'm afraid we haven't had chance to do this yet.  We've had to put a freeze on any enhancements at the moment, in order to respond to major changes recently announced by Google. We hope to restart work on adding new features in September.

I'd also like to be able to do this:  The potential use case is for a running route for club runs, where stronger (or weaker) runners add or cut out a bit of the route. Ideally these would be dotted and marked as '+' or '-' X miles.

Thanks for this Rory. This is proving to be very popular feature request and we can see lots of use cases for it.  It is not an easy job to build this capability into the site but we're working on it and hope to be able to provide something along these lines very soon. Watch this space!
