How can I eleminate the waypoints from the track once downloaded ?

Once downloaded open your gpx file in pc program gpx editor (freeware).

Open in gpx editor and in the left pane select Waypoints (right click) > delete.

You also can very easily delete or (re)edit individual waypoints.

When you download a route to a GPX file we create a waypoint for each item in the list of directions, so if you don't want them to appear in the downloaded file you can delete any you don't want before you download the route.
