When I click "show local map" on the front page, the following message appears:

Sorry - a problem occured trying to locate you.  Please try searching for the name of the place you want to find.

Had searched the Forum, How-to, etc. for advice, but to no avail.

Kindly advise how to resolve this problem.

    Thanks,

It could be due to the Location permission settings in your browser - they may have been disabled altogether or disabled just for our website. The settings vary depending on what browser you are using but on Chrome for example, you can check the Location setting for any site by clicking on the Lock symbol in the address bar and selecting Site Settings.

    Hello together,

I have the same problem with DuckDuckGo browser on Android. The probem here is, that the browser cannot be set to accept the plotaroute (or another) location request. I have written an E-Mail on that to the DuckDuckGo team.
But as it is of course difficult to distingiush between wanted requests from a routing website and unwanted requests by other websites or advertising services can be really difficult for software developers I think it qould be great to have the possibility to set the current location manually for challenges in plotaroute. While you can zoom and pan around on the map to workaround the problem when plotting a route there's not workaround for the challenge checkin as far as I can see.

    What do you think?

    Best regards,

    Lucas

This would be a very niche requirement I think Lucas, so is unlikely to make it to the top of our very long feature request list I'm afraid. The best solution is to use a compatiable browser that supports location services.
