Distance shown in miles in animation modeFORUMS HOME SEARCH FORUMS

I have set the default unit for distance as km. Even then when I click on Route Name in the route list to view it, the disance shown is in miles. A bug?

Thanks for flagging this up. Is this when using the website on a computer or a mobile device?

I haven't been able to reproduce this problem here, so it's hard to know why this is happening.  Are you definitely signed in when viewing the route? If so, can you let me know which page you are on when you click the link to view the route please?

Nope! Doesn't help. Still shows the distane in miles.

km_miles indicator = changeover switch!

I know that I can always toggle! My question is if I am never going to use miles why this extra step? That too when I have selected km as the distance measure in my settings!

I see, I had it always in km at start. So I tested by clearing browser (Chrome) history completely.  After that,  the example route indeed start up is in miles.

What to do ? You have to reconfirm the Plotaroute settings !  Go to > https://www.plotaroute.com > Sign in > https://www.plotaroute.com/myhome > Find your login name > My settings > Set up > Than MUST push SAVE CHANGES (even if accepting default) > "! Your settings have been saved". (MUST SEE !)

Go to > https://www.plotaroute.com/route/916801  > Display should start in km. (Works for me, so hope it solves your problem)

I'm still not able to reproduce this problem here.  The only reason that your default choice of units should be overridden is if the units are specified in the URL (the web page address). This shouldn't be the case if you are definitely signed in and clicking on a link on your My Routes page to get to the View Route page.  Can you confirm tha full URL of the View Route page you are looking at - you can copy this from the browser address bar?

Hi Willy. Thanks for confirming the problem. I am pretty sure that after a browser history cleaning, the distance will revert back to miles. Please confirm.

Ah, that helps - I can reproduce the problem here now.  It looks like it only happens when the settings haven't been saved in your browser's local storage. That could be for a number of reasons but that's why it was working OK for me here. We'll get it fixed and report back when it's done.

We've applied this fix. It may take up to 3 hours to take effect, but after this hopefully you'll see your default choice of units applied.

Works now. Cleared the browser history and after loggin in the distance was in km. Thanks. Willy can you please confirm.
