Our race production company relies heavily on accurate maps.  We recently purchased plotaroute to provide a different look for participants.  However, it seems very difficult to make small adjustments to anything other than a very simple map.  I will admit I am still learning how to use the program because the graphics are great.

That said we need something that is quick but accurate to .001 miles.  Two items that would be most helpful:

    1.  Several races we have are two loops.  The start and finish may be in different location but the loops are on the route.  How can I plot the first loop the have the program repeat the second loop, much like an out and back route?

    2.  Although I asked in an earlier blog - how can I adjust a turn-around point midcourse when I am trying to add or subtract mileage to a course>

    Appreciate you time and support.

    Hi Russ,

You can use the Repeat a Loop tool in the toolbar to repeat a loop in the middle of a route rather than repeat the whole route.  To use this you select the start and end of the loop you want to repeat and then choose how many times you want to repeat it.

For tweaking a route, the best tool to use is the Reshape Route tool, with the Auto-Plot switch set to off. You can see a demonstration of this in our video tutorial on editing routes.
