By placing a "point" on top of the track_route get an alert when approching that "position" @ navigate by a tcx_ fit course.

@ John. The method as described in How to - tips and tricks - Add labels and symbols at points on the route.

    - 4. "Directions can only be attached to points".

Method I do use by the actual Plotaroute.

    1. Position_create an anchor point.

    2. By the "Edit marker" add a direction or general info. (ex by Flag/Generic )

    Hi Jason,

Sorry, we didn't spot your question until Willy replied. The best way to add a label or symbol to an exact position on the map using coordinates is to enter the coordinates into the Locate Map search box (latitude and logitude separated by a comma). This will move the map to those coordinates. You can then use the Annotate Map tool (at the top of thr too, bar) to add the label to the map.

How to insert an instruction or info waypoint precisely located on top of a Route ?  The method I do prefer:

Edit screen > Select HILLS > Find elevation window > Use distance glider > "Click to add directions here" > "Edit Information at xx.xxx km from the Start" > Done.

Example: Add a point by Name (free) Notes(free) and select Icon Flag.

@ tcx course export & in gps navigation screen result expect Icon: Flag, Name: "Check 1", Notes: Checkpoint 1  (tcx name = 10 character limit)

I found Plotaroute does not generate the required tcx PointType 'Generic'  (Flag Icon)

    I ask here: https://www.plotaroute.com/posts/1368/D/1

Hi John/all - I've completed a ~90 mile route for the upcoming road rally and everything in Plotaroute worked great for mapping it out.  I have 8-12 checkpoints along the rally route identified by GPS coordinates where cars will cross a line, pull over and get their timeslip from the checkpoint worker.  In a perfect world, I'd like to drop a pin or marker by entering the GPS coordinates and adding a title (i.e Checkpoint 1) so it can be displayed on the route. I looked at annotations on the map and that was close-ish, but probably not easily done to the exact coordinates.

I've gone through all the tutorial videos and tips and tricks and couldn't find this mentioned, so it may be less of a "How To" and more of a feature request.  :)  Can you let me know if this can be done with the current version, or if not, if that's something could be added in an upcoming update?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jason
