Mobile site confusing and hard to useFORUMS HOME SEARCH FORUMS

I often use plotaroute to share my routes with anyone, not just other plotaroute users . What others basically want to do is to download the GPX for their GPS and get going.

However, a very common complaint I get is that the plotaroute mobile site when showing a route is confusing and hard to use. Part of this is poor management of the advertising windows that gets in the way *a lot* and makes the site confusing. The desktop site does not have this problem.

Many don't succeed downloading a GPX file at all without I giving them a specific instruction, ie that you must activate the interactive view, (which yields yet another confusing advertising bombardment), open the menu and choose download.

I'd like to see a download link on the first page (like on the desktop site), and less intrusive advertising. If this type of aggressive advertising is necessary for economical reasons, I'd like to see it possible to pay some reasonable fee to keep some select routes of mine advertising free.

Two examples of advertising making the side hard to use. Directly when arriving the screen is almost completely filled with adverts. The it's common that two adverts get overlaid on top of eachother or two identical adverts one after another. It's so bad that it reminds users of malware sites, which has become a problem for my own sites when linking to plotaroute routes.

Thanks for this feedback Anders.  We'll have a look at making it easier to download routes from the mobile site - I think we can probably add the same buttons to the View Route page that are on the desktop site to take people straight to the download options. 

We'll look into the advertising issues too. Google manages all our advertsing and has recently made some changes to the way this works - we're still getting to grips with how these changes affect things. 

We've added some new buttons to the View Route page on the mobile site to make it easier to download, print and share routes - the buttons are the same as the ones on the desktop site, so hopefully this should feel more familiar and be easier to use.
