You can install Bike Tracker PC Ability on an Android phone to guide you.  You can amend the direction text in Plotaroute and Bike Tracker will read out whatever it says.

You need to store tcx files in the right folder on the phone and it will work.  Lots of tweaks in Bike Tracker to give you instructions and feedback you want.

Thanks for that kind feedback and your suggestion Jay. Voice prompts for navigation is definitely high on our list as something we want to do.

Plotaroute has the easiest plotting interface  Very intuitive.  What it needs is a turn by turn voice prompt system like Komoot.  I used to use Komoot to plot bike routes but interface is not as easy as plotaroute.  WIth an integrated turn by turn  voice prompt, it would make for a carlike experience and surpass Komoot.

What I do now, is plot using plotaroute. Then export as a gpx file and import into komoot.  Then I run Komoot to give me turn by turn prompts.  No need to even look at the phone screen anymore.
