I've used the navigation function before and its worked well.  This past weekend (and again today) I tried to use the GPS navigation function using the mobile app and the error I get is "Waiting for accurate location signal".

I tried it several times on our hike on Saturday and it never 'located' me.

I tried it today at my house and same problem.  It doesn't locate me.

I have location services on, on my phone.  The GPS function works great with Google maps, Waze, Samsung Health workout-tracking.  But not the plot-a-route app or mobile website.

Phone is a Samsung Galaxy Note10+

    Hi Nik,

Have a look at the following FAQ to see if this helps: Why can't the mobile app detect my location? Web apps like ours have different location settings to native apps like Waze, so you may have inadvertently disabled location permission for web apps.

I checked both of those things.  (settings on chrome on my phone) and settings on the app and both were enabled/allowed.

Still having the problem.  The location/navigation puts me within a couple miles of wherever I am... but has the 'waiting for accurate location signal" and doesn't try to properly locate me even as I hike.

I'm not sure then Nik. Did you check that "Precise Location" was enabled for Safari? Do you have any browser extensions or other privacy related apps installed that could be preventing access by websites to an accurate GPS location?

    Not using Safari.

Thanks for your help and your time.

I'm sure its frustrating with millions of phones out there with millions of people doing all kinds of things with their devices you can't control.

I'm going to have to switch to a different app.  We hike in some remote areas and this past Saturday not having the GPS tracking put us in a potentially risky/dangerous situation given the weather and remote area we were hiking in.

Sorry Nik, I meant Chrome. It's best not to rely on it in remote areas anyway, as it needs an internet connection to function. We're hoping to introduce a native app at some point though that will work offline.
