Following a review of technical and commercial options for satellite imagery, we've now been able to reintroduce satellite maps as part of our free service. We reluctantly had to restrict them to Premium members last year due to anticipated large rises in costs, but we've been able to contain these costs to manageable levels. This means that anyone using our free service will now have six different types of maps to choose from, even if they are not registered with Plotaroute.

As the costs of running a service like this change all the time, we have to continually review what we can afford to provide for free.  The best way to support Plotaroute is by becoming a Premium member and our annual rates are very competitive, however we're also keen to make Plotaroute as accessible as possible, so we will always try to provide a great range of features for free, to enable you to plan and share basic routes at no cost.
