As a cyclist, I would recommend switching between the Cycling map and the OS map with "Hills" active, both within PR when creating the route, to minimise those pesky hills!

Ok, thanks Julien, I do use the hills view to look at my plotted route, but perhaps I might keep it active whilst I'm plotting.

    Hi Richard,

To my knowledge, this isn't possible on Plotaroute.
Maybe one of the many cyclists on the forum has some advice on this topic.
If you haven't already done so, maybe plotting whilst displaying the elevation chart might help a bit. To do so, click on "HILLS" on the menu in the bottom right corner, under the "UNDO" button.

    Best regards,
    Julien

Is there a way of making contour lines more visible (i.e. thicker and darker) in the cycling view?  As I am of advancing years and have no battery on my bike, I prefer to minimise the amount of climbing that I do.  At present, I plan a route on my PC with Plotaroute and look at the contours on my phone on OsmAnd, but it's not ideal.
