Hi Marc - the options menu is above the map on the route listing page.  To get to this page, go to your home page (after singing in), select the My Routes panel and click the View link next to the route you want to view.

I cannot seem to find the Options menu. I go to My Routes, click on either View or Edit but see no Menu. What am I missing ?

Thanks for the feedback Marc.  If anyone is interested in us adding an option to override the default distance marker interval, please vote for this on our Feature Requests list (number 42).

In the meantime, you can temporarly switch off the distance markers if you are having trouble viewing the route - you can do this va the Options menu if you are looking at the route on the route listing page or using the switches at the bottom of the map in the route planner.

I noticed you started another forum topic on this - just so you know, I've deleted that one so we can keep any comments about this is one place.

I would value the abilitiy to set the distance marker interval - I find there are too many and they interfere with reading the route map.

You might find the "Measure Section" feature helpful Nick (under the Plot menu).   You can use this to measure the length of a loop in the middle of a route.  There is also a "Repeat A Loop" feature there too, which might be useful to you if you are editing a route to add extra loop sections - this will show you the distance before and after adding the extra loops (you can choose how many), so you can see how much longer it would be with the extra loops before confirming the edit.  

We've still got the Distance Marker request on our list though, so will hopefully be able to add a manual override for this at some point.

Such a feature would be very useful.  I set club run routes for Hitchin Nomads Cycling Club, usually ~40-50 miles and the markers are every four miles.  There are always optional loops for the faster riders and I'd like to be able to see how long these are so that I can give a good idea as to the total route length depending on loop options selected.  I have to guess the loop length at the moment.  Huge fan of Plotaroute though - makes my job so much easier.

Thanks for the suggestions Pat.  I'll add them to our feature request list.  The interval between the distance markers is currently adjusted automatically depending on the length of the route, so that longer routes don't have too many distance markers showing.  We'll have a think about how we could add an option to manually set how frequent they are too.

It would be good to be able to select the interval between distance markers - in my routes of 150 - 200km they automatically appear at 8km intervals; but I would like to put them at 10 or 20km intervals.

It would also be good to have the option to set them as measured from the finish rather than the start.
