Many thanks - i've found that "Print Using Browser" does the job with the added bonus that you can scroll around the route whilst your in that mode.  "Print to PDF" is also grest for sending people sections of the route without having to print hard copies.  

Hi Owen - there is a "Print Using Browser" link in the bottom left of the Print dialog box, opposite the "Print to PDF" button. If you want to print just one section of a route though, you may be better saving that section as a separate route. You can use the Shorten Route tool to edit your longer route, then make sure you choose "Save As New Route" when you come to save it.

I'm sure i used to be able to print enlarged extracts of my route in OS format straight to my printer.  I now only have the option to print straight to PDF and it prints the whole course, not the extract that i have enlarged - why is this?  Thanks
