This one is deliberately hilly and my toughest Ayl ride, taking in most of the good steap scenic hills ( 1000mtrs assent), but not the savere ones like Kop hill/ white leaf. We skirt around and along the ridge line of the hilly areas, so a few good views. The steepest bit is the very short start to Wendover woods climb and on to the woods cafe at the top ( now refurbed) or there is the option of Wendover with several cafes, although that would be a slight detour on this ride as the route takes in both Dunsmore (16% worst bit and Carden hill which is much easier). Then finish off ride with Eythrope hill (Waddesden, ,which is a gorgeous little meander through the estate) and sets me up for a nice easy spin home via the new Greenway, so an easy 5 mile run home.
What’s good about this route is, you can easily chop out 7 hilly miles of Wendover woods, by simply cutting across to St Leonard’s, after climbing Parrots lane from Cholmesley, which not only shortens ride to 47 miles but knocks off 300ft of assent.
Cafe in Wendover woods is awesome now, great food options.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
