    A mixed route of quiet country lanes, undulating moorland and optional river crossings. Crosses over Drovers Bridge on Harpurs downs which is elevated by approx. 8 ft and is approx. 8' wide so safe to cross on sensible horse. Steep climb over Harpurs Downs towards Alex Tor then returning via Newton(permitted path so use with good grace and manners)towards allan Valley and back through Advent. 3 or 4 gates, some of which require a dismount. Gates MUST be properly shut as access on and off moor by livestock. 2 Gates at Newton, 1 sometimes open but 2nd always shut and on steep ground so use with care.
