Maenporth road closure 8th March to April 6th 2021 cuts off 2.5m of original route! This new route takes the shortest road diversion to Mawnan and, although Maenporth Hill is taken out, it is just as hilly if not more so and needs a little distance adding on too!
Start as normal on Pendennis Castle entrance road.
Normal clockwise circuit around Pendennis Point, along seafront (Cliff Road), past Gylly car Park then (1st ROUTE CHANGE) TURN LEFT into BOSCAWEN RD and next TURN RIGHT up Pennance Road back onto route then down to Swanpool, then to beach and up past Golf Course and Pitch'n'Putt. At T junction turn left as usual but ( 2nd ROUTE CHANGE) IMMEDIATELY TURN RIGHT down the road you will come up after 10 miles or so! Follow this Road down and then long climb up to next T-junction where you keep straight on following the road around to the left and KEEP STRAIGHT ON at next Junction towards Mawnan. Follow this road all the way to Mawnan where you emerge opposite the Post Office/General Store. TURN RIGHT and you are back on route. After the brow of the hill TURN LEFT as usual and follow this road always only turning to right until you come to the main road T-junction opposite the Penwarne Manor entrance. TURN LEFT as usual along this road until you TURN RIGHT into 'No Man's Land' road as usual and follow al the way back to Penjerrick T-junction where you TURN LEFT and you are now re-tracing your run out around the bend to the right and KEEPING RIGHT at the next junction run all the way down and back up to the top as usual then LEFT and immediately RIGHT back towards Swanpool and as you come down to the beach remember to TURN LEFT to go all the way around the back of the pool, then up the hill, straight over the top and down to Gylly Beach and then all the way along the seafront where your 13.1 miles should come up somewhere between the Falmouth Hotel car park entrance and the top end of Cliff Road.
This is just a suggestion in case you had planned to run the usual Fal Half route for this Virtual one. Obviously since this is a Virtual Run Falmouth this year you can choose any 13.1m route anyway.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
