The Thame Outer Circuit is an approximately 20 mile circular walk through the Oxfordshire countryside surrounding the market town of Thame. It takes in the villages of Long Crendon, Shabbington, Tetsworth, Sydenham, Emmington, Towersey, Kingsey and Haddenham Church End as well as passing through the Rycote Estate and the Oxfordshire Golf Course. The terrain is generally flat and the walk is mainly on public rights of way with a few linking sections on fairly quiet roads. However, it should be noted that this area is fairly low-lying and that, after periods of heavy rain, some fields, particularly those adjacent to the River Thame, may be flooded.
The walk has been divided into three separate sections, with the start and finish of each accessible by bus from the centre of the town. This route shows Option 2 of Section 1, but there is a shorter route (Option 1) between Long Crendon and Shabbington that is also shown on the map.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
