Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.
When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.
Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.

From the Western Entrance of Spittal Pond, walk along the park's marked trails, exiting at the Eastern entrance and continuing to Watch Hill Road, just past the park of the same name. Turn left onto Watch Hill Road, and take another left onto Knapton Estates Road. Follow the road past High Knoll Lane, to Knapton Hill. Turn left onto Knapton Hill, continuing up and over to Harrington Hundreds Road. Turn right onto Harrington Hundreds Road, heading down the hill to Harrington Sound Road. Turn left onto Harrington Sound Road, and walk to Flatt's, taking the steps of Paradise Lane up to Middle Road. Walk to the junction with Verdmont Road at Zuill's Park, then turn left onto St. Mark's Road. Follow this winding path to the South Shore Road, turn left and return to your starting point.
