Hallow and then headed to Martley via Sinton Green and Wichenford. After Martley it was time to start climbing – with Clifton Bank the major obstacle. We paused for oxygen and a slurp of water at the green in Clifton before continuing the ascent to Sapey Common and Hanley Broadheath. The downside of an invigorating descent through Hanley William was that we lost all that hard-earned altitude – but it was fun! Back in the Teme valley we followed a lovely, quiet road into Tenbury for a refreshment stop overlooking the river.

From Tenbury most roads lead upwards. Thankfully it was nothing like as bad as the road back to Clifton and we made good time through Sutton and Kyre to Collington where we turned off the B road and onto country lanes (some of them positively agricultural with plenty of cow $h!t and several cattle grids to contend with!). Despite the slippery and bumpy hazards this was another lovely stretch with views of Whitbourne Hall and a 15% descent. We then had some fun “playing with the traffic” on the A44 before turning off to Doddenham and heading for home via Lower Broadheath.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
