From Saltaire station cross the bridge over the river to the park, cross over the park and find Shipley Glen Tramway to the east (or left) of the school car park. You can walk up or get the little tram up. Check out the little sweet shop at the top. Walk along the road until you see the Old Glen House pub and tearooms. Walk along the top of the moor parallel to the road until the moor ends. Follow the path down the hill and cross the bridge over the river, then follow the path up the hill with the river on your left and follow the path to the top of the hill and walk along the top of the Glen enjoying the views of the steep gorge and fast flowing river. At the end of the Glen cross over a small dam and go back up the hill to the pub and retrace your steps back down to Saltaire station. Lots of places for refreshments in Saltaire, Old Glen House has an open fire in winter

Note: Route start should have been plotted from Saltaire Station, which is very near to the footbridge across the river

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
