NOTE: the photo icon indicates the more accurate location of the tree. Start at the corner Derwent Avenue and 2nd Street where Tree #26 is located. To get to the next tree, Tree #12, it is a fair jaunt out to Comox Bluff Ecological Reserve. Bevan Road will turn to gravel after passing the Comox Valley Regional Waste Management Centre. Be careful on this road, on dry days the vehicles passing you in both directions, can make you invisible due to the dust kicked up. Cycle to GPS coordinates 49.641380, -125.104254, and then walk in to visit the tree by reading the directions on the description. The return takes you back along the same route except as you near the village turn onto Maple Street and wind your way back to Derwent Avenue. When on Sutton Road, you will be at the entrance of the Cumberland Community Forest, maybe a mountain bike trail is calling your name...

Cumberland offers alot to the cyclist, including a really good bike shop, and some great ice cream! Stick around and check it out.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
