    Road | NW Durham | Extremely hilly route designed to incorporate (up or down) as many of the most significant hills between Durham and the A68 as possible without repeating itself (sole exception is about 400 m between Ragpath Lane and the bridge over the River Browney). Trying to keep the stats neat I arrived at 60 miles/7000 ft but more can be achieved if the will is there. Alternatively there are plenty of options to bail out as I did the first time I tried it.
