From Schloss, we head down New Street to St Martin's Church, then Digbeth High St to The Custard Factory. Along Gibb Street and Heath Mill Lane and over the hump bridge, TAKE A SHARP RIGHT AND ACCESS THE CANAL TOWPATH. Head down the Grand Union Canal towpath towards and into the Curzon Street Tunnel. Follow the towpath to Brindley Place.

When you reach the Utilita Arena (NIA!), follow the tow path with the NIA on your right. Walk under Ladywood Middleway, cross from the righthand towpath to the left and exit the canal network onto Northbrook Street and Coplow Street. When Coplow Road meets Icknield Port Road, walk to the crossing, cross the road and use the access/entrance for Edgbaston Reservoir. Walk anti-clockwise around the reservoir, exit the same entrance used, turn left and walk a short distance to meet Summerfield Crescent at the end, turn left into Gillot Road and right into Westgate. Access Summerfield Park. Turn left and walk toward the start of the "Harborne Walkway" - follow this until its exit onto Parkhill Road, turn left, and into KingscotePlace, which turns into Kingscote Road (allotments on the left). Turn right at the end into Harborne Road, and head to THE PLOUGH - here, you can refill water bottles and use the toilets.

From the PLOUGH, cross over, follow Melchley Lane for 100 Yards, and turn left into Somerset Road. Follow this all the way to the humpback bridge, which goes over the Worcester and Birmingham canal and access the canal network here. Head North towards the city centre. Follow this to the Mailbox, turn left, stay on the left-hand towpath (walk past Canal House), and then cross the canal into the ICC. Walk through the ICC and once round Centenary Square (to make sure you hit that magic 20k!) and into Albert's Schloss for a well-earned drink!

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
