    The walk is a circular walk, starting from the car park the route follows the trans pennine trail towards Haw Park, through woodland to the Cold Hiendley Reservoir spillway then follows the disused Barnsley Canal to the entrance of Warterton Park Golf Club along field tracks and woodland paths overlooking Walton Hall. The route then continues through Stubbs Wood across open fields to finally circumnavigate the lake at Anglers Country park. While many of the tracks are on solid ground the woods and fields may be muddy so waterproof boots will likely be needed. The walk has few hills and is a relatively easy walk.
