The Baton will arrive here by tractor, before the celebrations get underway. This Hope Hub will shine a light on the work of the Aqueduct Support Group, with guest speakers sharing how they are making a difference in the local community. We’ll also witness a very special moment as renowned tree carver Simon O’Rourke unveils the Bench of Hope — a beautiful gift to the community. This new “talking-point bench” is designed to give people a place to pause, sit together, and connect.
Alongside these highlights, there’ll be tea, cake, and musical entertainment to enjoy in the warm and welcoming setting of the tearoom.
If at any point you feel you need some time out away from the busyness of the tour, St John’s Church in Rhosymedre will be hosting the first of our Quiet Spaces on the tour. Just a short walk from the route, their team will be on hand with tea, coffee, and a listening ear for anyone who might need a breather, a chat, or a bit of quiet support.
When it’s time to move on, the Baton will leave Chapel Tea Room on foot, carried by our Baton Bearers through Cefn Mawr as it makes its way towards our next destination — Ebenezer Gallery.
About the Calorie Calculator
Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.
When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.
Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
