London Winter Run

Landmark list with approximate km markers (start → finish)
• km — Trafalgar Square (Start) — Start area around Nelson’s Column / National Gallery. Great meeting-point photo.
• 0.2–1.0 km — The Strand / Covent Garden approach — You’ll run down The Strand early on, passing Somerset House direction east. Good fast section for settling into pace.
• 1.0–1.7 km — Aldwych / Temple — Curves through the Temple/Aldwych area as the route turns into the City.
• 2.5–3.5 km — St Paul’s Cathedral (nearby view) — The route skirts close to St Paul’s dome — often a big “wow” moment for runners.
• 3.5–5.5 km — City of London (Bank / Monument area) — The course heads into the Square Mile with glimpses of City towers (e.g., The Gherkin, Shard visible in the distance). This is roughly the mid-point before you loop back.
• ~5.0 km — Snow / Winter-themed feature (midpoint entertainment zone) — The Winter Run adds themed features (Snowy Summit / Snow Zone / polar entertainment) around the halfway area. Expect music and marshals.
• 5.5–7.0 km — Return along The Strand / Victoria Embankment approach — Heading back west along a similar river-bank/Strand corridor toward central Westminster.
• 7.5–9.0 km — Horse Guards Parade / Whitehall / The Cenotaph — You pass Horse Guards and run down Whitehall, with the Cenotaph and approach to Parliament visible as you near the finish.
• ~9.5–10.0 km — Finish on Whitehall / near Downing Street — Finish strip on Whitehall (close to the Houses of Parliament / Big Ben views).
