    1. Park at Co-Op.

    2. Sign-posted at the corner of the Queens Bridge and Co-Op carpark entrance, descend along a short walkway to the river Goyt and the 'Goyt Way'.

    3. Keeping the river on your right, continue straight ahead along the track until you reach Goytside Farm. Turn right immediately you have passed the farm (sign-posted Goyt Way).

    4. Continue along the path to cross the Goyt river by a footbridge and walk uphill bearing to the right at the top to join the Peak Forest Canal.

    5. Turn right along the canal towpath and follow it for about one and a quarter miles. A few yards after passing the Marina, you go under the low A6015 bridge.

    6. Continue to the next bridge - DO NOT GO UNDERNEATH - bear right up the short walkway to the right of the bridge and turn right down a rough track (Lower Greenshall Lane). You will go underneath a railway tunnel.

    7. At the bottom of the track continue along a minor road (Waterside Road) heading slightly to the right, crossing the Goyt by a road bridge, before in 75 yards turning right into Torrs Riverside Park.

    8. Stay on the main path following ‘GW’ and Midshires Way indicators keeping close to the river on the right.

    9. Bear left past a reed bed and over some small wooden walkways. Follow the wood up and over (can be a little steep). Keep going through the nature reserve.

    10. You will soon reach Mousley Bottom hamlet. Follow the signs on the right to the 'Torrs Millennium Walkway', leading down to the Goyt Valley and Millennium Walkway.

    11. Go over the Millennium Walkway and continue alongside the river.

    12. Go under the 100ft arches of Union Road Bridge. Bear right after Torrs Hydro towards the double-level Queens Bridge.

    13. Turn left just after Queens Bridge, back up to your starting point at the Co-Op.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
