    VermilliRUN is a 5K race/walk that takes participants through the streets of the Vermillion Community in Huntersville, NC. The run is in honor of Brian Bowman who passed away from bone cancer in 2014. Brian was a proud member of the Vermillion Community who was always eager to lend a helping hand to his neighbors and friends.

    All proceeds from the race will be donated to A Cure In Sight, founded to raise ocular melanoma awareness and to help those with ocular melanoma find and pay for the treatments they need. Ocular melanoma is a rare eye cancer diagnosed in about 2,500 adults a year, or about 6 new cases in 1 million people. However, in Huntersville there have been 18 victims of this cancer.

    We run to raise awareness for the ocular melanoma cluster in Huntersville. We run to support and honor our friends and families who have been touched by cancer. We run for those who no longer can. We run to BEAT CANCER.
