Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.
When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.
Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.

BRIEF: Meet outside the cafe in Franklin-Wilkins building and start the run along the main road and follow the Roundabout round to York Road.
Continue down York Road until you meet Westminster Bridge Road and turn right.
On the opposite side of the road is the Florence Nightingale museum, named "the lady with the lamp" she is known for her famous involvement in the Crimean war and for founding the Nightingale Training School for nurses at St. Thomas' Hospital. Nearby is a statue of Mary Seacole, a Jamaican-born nurse who cared for wounded British soldiers during the Crimean War in the 19th Century.
Run over Westminster Bridge and along Great George Street.
Run through St.James' Park along the lake to Spur Road.
From here you can view Buckingham Palace, the Queen's official and main royal London home. It has been the official London residence of Britain's monarchy since 1837. Queen Victoria was the first monarch to live there.
Run back through St. James' Park along the lake
Exit the park and run along The Mall, round the roundabout to Northumberland Avenue.
You will pass the Playhouse Theatre.
Run over the Golden Jubilee Bridge.
Once you reach the end, go down to the southbank, turn left and right after Members Bar.
When you get to Belvedere Road, turn left toward the BFI Southbank, a cinema that shows both classic and contemporary films.
Turn right towards the IMAX and left along Stamford Street to return to Franklin-Wilkins.
