This walk starts at Ascot station and goes up through the racecourse giving good views of the Royal racecourse first opened by Queen Anne. It then takes the track towards Wood End and then down past Ascot Great pond to the Windsor Great Park. After going through Consort gate the walk cuts right down a riding track and down to Virginia Water. This then follows the line of the lake for some 4 miles all the way to Blacknest gate. The walker will get some great views of the lake and flowers particularly in Spring.
At Blackest gate follow the road up for 10 minutes until a footpath is reached which takes the walker through the Imperial college. It will then cross past St Michaels church and continue on to a road from there the New Mile straight can be reached which takes the walker back to Ascot.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
