Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.
When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.
Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.

Start at the entrance to St Peter's and St Andrew's Church on Princes Street (B874), proceed to Olrig Street (A9) (0.103 miles) and turn left onto Olrig Street (A9). Continue to Forss Crossroads (5.207 miles) on the A9/A836 and turn left onto single track road. Continue to Lythmore/Bridge of Westfield (8.396 Miles) and turn left at the junction and proceed to Thurso. Proceed passed the 30mph Speed Limit and on to Castlegreen Road (12.082 miles) and turn left up the hill. Proceed along Castlegreen Road and turn left at the junction onto Smith Terrace/A9/A836 (12.699 miles). Repeat the circuit 4 times for the 50 mile Road Race or 5 times for the 60 mile Road Race finishing at the lamppost opposite the substation near North Highland College UHI at 47.976 miles for the 50 mile Road Race or 60.09 miles for the 60 mile Road Race.
