Depart from back left of Tesco’s Heswall and go down through woods at back exiting near Queens Drive but cross road and go a short distance right where you will find a signpost to the Dales. Aim slightly left and downhill to exit in Piper’s Lane. Cross road and turn right to head roughly north. Up near the end of Piper’s Lane (past the last house), there is a footpath on the left that heads down to the Wirral Way (WW) where you turn right and head north-west to Thurstaston visitor centre for a cuppa and a bite to eat!
Afterwards, continue in a northerly direction along WW to West Kirby - you can stick with tHe WW all the way into WK but I turn off left to Cubbins Green for a view of the River Dee and Wales and then back on roads at Macedonia Drive and then Sandy Lane. Continue towards WK station and buses via one of South Parade (alongside marine lake), Banks Road (shops and cafes) or Hilbre Rd into Westbourne Road. Whichever route you take, reward yourself with a cuppa in the Aubergine cafe or a pint in the Wro Bar or the WK Tap.

N.B. in the Dales, there are many paths and you can talk a north-westerly route and come out on Oldfield Drive - if you do, turn right and then look for Redstone Drive on th4e left - take this to end where it joins Piper's Lane and then pick up journey as described above.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
