This is aimed at Anti-clockwise Clockwise route & , bad weather winter route, as the lanes are good and in my experience, don’t usually flood or get to muddy from the farmers.
This is also interesting and scenic route via Manley Mere cafe ( closed Tue & Wed) a great stop at 16 miles, just as the feet start to get cold in the height of winter. This also avoids the horrible bumpy lane that runs past MM from the ridge and takes the lovely B road up from Ashton Hayes.
So the cafe needs a slight detour if required, but can be iffy on opening times for winter. However, there is always the Blue Bell, just 2 miles, but closed on weekend south or Meadow Lea at 22 miles.

Route would favour SE wind, as it is anti-clockwise. The first 15 miles are reasonably exposed , but last 10 would be protected from SE wind, in most part, especially last 7 from Wetreins lane.
Ideal no cafe ride, in summer.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
