Local route just to visit the Acorn cafe at Commonwood fishing lakes, outside Holt and good for South westerly winds providing a tail wind home
The route is tricked up a bit to take advantage of the best of the country lanes and is really very countrified. Simple loop back via Holt & village lanes to Aldford , Bruera, then the lovely smooth Plats lane to tattemhall.
    This route deliberate
Y avoids the natural rout up to Shotlach because of the crappy potholed lane

This route is not ideal for winter unless it has not rained for several days however, you can still get mucky lanes from the farmers, especially from Harthill to Tilston and Parr Green Lane from Shotlack to Tilston often floods and filthy.. to make this a winter route simply go via Aldersey, Barton, Tilston & pick up the route again, it would only loose a couple of miles if that.
The route has already been amended to avoid the nasty potholed bit of Shotlach road.
Then carry on straight through Shotlach to Farndon and home

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
