    This tarmac path is a handy shortcut for pedestrians. It is suitable for all abilities, wheelchairs and pushchairs, you can cycle on it but would have to stop to give way to any pedestrians.
    Starting on Perceval Road turn up on to the Columbia Place road - there are now traffic lights at this junction on the Perceval Road. You can take the path behind the play area or pavement beside the road, follow this towards Stornoway Primary parking area. To the left of the parking bays join the gravel path (wall on one side and fence on other), follow the path up behind the school. You can take a path halfway along that leads to Cearnag na Baranachd or continue, the path bends right and comes out on Slighe MhicSheumias by the front of Stornoway Primary.
    Track type: good flat tarmac pavement leading to flat gravel path that is pavement width. The path was cleared by The Embark Project to make it more accessible and remove rubbish and weeds in August 2021.
    Hazards: Possible rubbish dropped, glass etc. The first short section is along a minor road, but this can get busy with traffic to and from the school at the start and end of the school day.
    Highlights: useful well-used short cut for the community, parents and children.
