Mohun-Campbell Lake Bikepacking Loop

Whether you're the novice getting the kinks out of the systems or looking to get primed up for bigger adventures, this overnighter is an easy way to do it. There are several options to camp along this route. Doing the loop in the direction shown it will get you to a really great BC Recreation Campsite, Pacific Yew , newly developed in May 2021. Although it is a short day (24kms) or you got a late start, this is a must stop. as most of the sites are on the lake and there's a small swimming beach. It is on the Sayward Canoe Route. Not all BC Recreation Sites are free so look up this link (look under Campbell River) for the rec sites open and close dates, amenities and whether there's a fee.

As for supplies, groceries, lodging, eateries, ice cream shop, etc., Campbell River has all that you need. And it's home to Swicked Cycles, where you will find not only good service but trail maps to the local MTB areas. Other things to do while in the area is visit the Elk Falls Provincial Park's hiking trails and the Suspension Bridge, 60 m long and 60 m above the canyon floor, is one of Canada's highest pedestrian suspension bridges! And the falls are cool to look at. Quadra and Cortes Island are just a short ferry ride away, and definitely worth it, especially, if you are visiting from further afield.
