    Leaving Gatesgarth you'll soon head along the southern side of Buttermere. Here you'll see a tree line in front of you slightly ascending. Heading up here and turning left you'll ascend up Scarth Gap Pass and reach the summit of Haystacks. Don' forget to make a detour to Innominate Tarn where Alfred Wainwright's ashes were scattered. Continue passing Blackbeck Tarn until you reach Dubs Quarry. Climb from here up to Fleetwith Pike and take in the views over Buttermere. Heading off the north side of Fleetwith Pike will bring you back into Gatesgarth, Buttermere.
