The 'Red' Route section veers sharp left after 50 yds down the main Meynell Wood path from East to South Fields.

Start at Tom's Tree (by Shot Put) then follow the 'Red Coned' trail until you reach the bottom of the Main Meynell wood path, here at holly tree cave you go straight over the main path, round the old oak to join the 'Blue' route section. This exits opposite your earlier entry to the red route.
RED + BLUE TRAIL EQUALS the complete 'Red Route'. 0.75m.

This whole circuit of Red plus Blue is for an improving, more confident MTB rider with options of practice/racing/timed loops onsite within Meynell Wood. Marked out with red (and white cones) , this is a far more challenging technical course with hazards i.e. overhanging branches, narrow tree gates, 2ft mounds, a 4ft deep crater, flowing singletrack, grassy moguls, exposed roots, rabbit holes and heavier ground/gullys in a few places.

Helmet, glasses and gloves MUST be worn. No roads involved.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
