    From the market ground head off along Mossley rd, then left along Beaufort rd, bear left onto Stamford st, right at thompson cross down Rassbottom st, past train station, then right at Whitehouse pub down shepley st onto Caroline st, past texaco garage then onto canal path, follow along through stalybridge centre under all the bridges, stay on canal until crossing over to left hand path before scout tunnel... to avoid going through it! Stay on the path until it merges back next to the canal then cross over to the right hand side towpath, stay on now through mossley, greenfield, get off at uppermill, across high st and back onto the canal towpath, follow all the way to diggle then return taking the right hand side canal towpath, cross back over to the other side after about a mile rd, continue until exiting at Brownhill countryside centre (just past bridge ref no.73) onto Dobcross new rd, right along High st and follow through uppermill, then bear left down chapel rd, left onto chew valley rd, turn right at the king william pub down ladhill lane, right along greenbridge lane, left past tennis centre onto bridle path, follow to the end at mcr rd, get back on behind royal george, stay on until the exit onto station rd, onto egmont st, right along mcr rd, left up stamford back to market ground
