    On 1 September 2018 I left my home in La Sauvetat, France. My plan: to walk to nearby Condom, then follow the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela and on to Cape Finistere. I can only do it in stages because of time constraints. On that first day I walked to Eauze, some 53 Kms and suffered for it. I didn't have the right footwear and it was too far to walk on the first day. In October, shod in a pair of good walking boots and the proper socks, I followed the trail from Eauze, through Nogaro and stopped at Lanne-Soubiran. On 29 March, the plan is to walk for two days, to cover about 72 Kns and get past Arzacq-Arizaguet as close to Navarenx as I can. Then in May, another two days to get me close to Saint-Jean-Pied-du-Port. Then, on 20 August, my friend Alex Horwood will join me for the walk across the Pyrenees to Pamplona and on to Burgos, a 10-12 day hike. In October, another friend, Ashley Crumbley will walk with me from Burgos to Leon. In 2020I will make the final 14-day walk to Compostela and beyond to Cape Finistere. I am doing it for Cancer Research UK

    UPDATE: I arrived in Burgos on 31 August. I'll be doiung the next leg, Burgos to Leon over 6 days in November.
