A relatively short route which doesn't take in the high fells but it was hot weather and quite a bit of carrying so OK to do when I wasn't fit. Choice of quarry track or old tramway up from Honister Pass - the former is easier and better views being closer to the valley. Singletrack (sort of) to Fleetwith Pike and back then the path which skirts Grey Knotts and Brandreth before climbing up to Green Gable. You don't have to go to the summit of Green Gable but it does have great views, particularly of Great Gable, except that it is usually in cloud. Tricky ride down to Base Brown and portage back up then along the ridge. Directly down to Honister is rideable but for this ride I started further down the pass in order to add Castle Crag afterwards and so dropped off the ridge further off Seatoller Fell which was not quite rideable - should have dropped down to Honister as the spur isn't a good ride anyway, being rather boggy and no real path.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
