The is long and hilly ( very scenic anti-clockwise route) with some cracking quiet lanes and hills.
This route is an extended version of my favourite local hilly ride along the Sandstone ridge to Hellsby and of course Manley Mere cafe, simply expanded to make a big anti-clockwise loop via Rosette.
So the second part of the route ( after MM cafe) goes via the Greenway and Saltney to cross the river Dee and complete the loop to Rosette.
I expanded my favourite route via Rossette, so any of the MGVC could ride my favourite hilly route.
The whole loop is 58 miles and nearly 3000ft, so a tough-ish ride and possibly needs 2 cafe stops and depends on where you start on the route, if from Rossette then Tarpoley fire station cafe is a good 1st stop, then the very scenic Manley Mere cafe ( good rest before the last climb back up the ridge, immediately after the cafe, but then it’s a very easy pan flat ride to Rossette via the Greenway, crossing the Dee at Saltney.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
