From Stoke Mandeville Combined School takethe Risborough Road toTerrick and Butlers Cross.
From here the climb steepens to Chequers Lodge but then Rignall Road is almost all down hill for 5 miles to Great Missenden. Take the A413 briefly towards London then take the first exit from the roundabout up Frith Hill which is a steep climb until we turn left to South Heath. Herberts Hole from Ballinger Bottom is a typical single-track Chiltern lane with wild flowers and blossom in the hedgerows and is part of National Cycle Route 57. Continuing as NCN57, the Hollow Way takes you through the middle of beautiful Little Pednor Farm and on towards Chesham with lovely views across the Pednor valley. From Pednor Vale you enter Chesham via the picturesque Old Town.
Taking the pedestrianised High Street which has several cafes, avoids the busy dual carriageway, but either way head north out of Chesham on the A416, leaving it to continue north on Vale Road.
The route climbs steadily for 6.5 miles through Buckland Common and St Leonards passing close to Haddington Hill (267m), the highest point in the Chilterns. From here is an exciting wooded descent then a gentle run through Halton and Weston Turville back to Stoke Mandeville.
Quite a hilly ride of 45km (28 miles) with 486 m (nearly 1600 feet) of ascent. We hope you enjoy it!

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
