If you're a frequent user of plotaroute.com and a PREMIUM member, you can take advantage of Keyboard Shortcuts to help make your route planning even more efficient. Follow these instructions to get started.
ACTIVATING KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS
To turn on keyboard shortcuts, head to your My Settings page and turn on the Keyboard Shortcuts setting. These settings are also available be clicking on the gear icon in the top right corner of the route planner.
USING KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS
Once Keyboard Shortcuts has been turned on in your settings, you will be able to use them to access some of the most frequently used features in the route planner. The shortcut associated with each feature will either be shown alongside it or when moving your mouse over it.
Where a Keyboard Shortcut displays an information panel, such as a hill profile, pressing the shortcut keys again will then hide the panel.
When using the keyboard shortcut for the Auto-Plot switch (CTRL+U), it will toggle between the OFF state and the setting you last chose.
This is a complete list of the keyboard shortcuts available:
|BACK TO THE START||CTRL+B|
|ZOOM IN TO CURRENT PLAYBACK POSITION||CTRL+→|
|ZOOM OUT TO SEE THE WHOLE ROUTE||CTRL+←|
|MOVE POSITION MARKER FORWARD||SHIFT+→|
|MOVE POSITION MARKER BACKWARDS||SHIFT+←|
Where a web browser uses one of the above shortcuts for its own menus, the plotaroute action should take priority, however it is possible that some browsers may override this, in which case you won't be able to use that particular shortcut. Shortcuts will also not work if you click away from the web page - for example, on the address bar of your browser.
